Adult content on a Roku: what actually works

You cannot install anything on a Roku to do this, and you have not been able to since February 2022. Roku removed private (non-certified) channels — the mechanism adult services used to distribute apps outside the channel store — and replaced them with beta channels capped at 20 users and expiring after up to 120 days. Roku also has no web browser, and does not allow developers to publish one.

What still works is sending the picture from another device: screen mirroring from Android or Windows, or AirPlay from an Apple device. The site runs in your phone or laptop browser and the Roku just displays it.

About those “Roku adult channel codes”

They do not work, and most of the pages listing them were written before the 2022 change and never updated. A code added at my.roku.com now creates a beta channel, which is limited to 20 users and expires — it is a developer testing tool, not a distribution channel, so no service can run on it.

Anywhere still selling access to a “secret” Roku adult channel in 2026 is either recycling dead content for ad revenue or after something worse. There is no code that restores the old behaviour, because the platform feature itself was removed.

Mirroring, by source device

  • Android phone or tablet

    Cast / Smart View from the quick settings panel, then pick the Roku.

    Both devices have to be on the same network, and screen mirroring must be enabled in the Roku's system settings.

  • Windows PC

    Press Win+K, or use Connect from the action centre, and pick the Roku.

    Works over Miracast, so a very old laptop or a locked-down work machine may not offer it.

  • iPhone, iPad or Mac

    AirPlay from Control Centre or the share sheet.

    Needs a Roku from 2019 or later on Roku OS 9.4+, and iOS 12.3 or later on the Apple device.

One consequence worth knowing, because people usually assume the opposite: the Roku is only showing a picture, so the session lives on the phone or laptop. Whatever you sign into is recorded there, in that device's browser and accounts — not on the television.

Fire TV Stick is a different situation

Fire TV runs an Android-based platform with real web browsers available in its own app store, so a site can be opened directly on the stick rather than mirrored to it. If you are choosing a device with this in mind, that is the entire difference — Roku is a closed appliance, Fire TV is a small computer.

Neither device changes what you need to get in. If a paysite login is the missing part, the directory lists shared logins with the date each was added.
